What's in a name? For Plurion it's a plurality of ions. Our name reflects our proprietary and broad range of flow battery technologies (sometimes called redox batteries or reversible fuel cells) from which we are developing a family of high-capacity electricity storage systems.

Flow batteries are now acknowledged as the leading option for practical, utility-scale, high-capacity electricity storage. Our technology platform provides high operating cell voltage and current density, as well as osmotically-balanced and near maintenance-free operation.

Plurion is determined to become the acknowledged leader in electricity storage by delivering power at the lowest overall cost and by outperforming not only competing storage technologies but many peak-demand electricity generation technologies.

Customers may not understand or care about Plurion’s unique family of chemistries or the company’s exceptional investment in product engineering, computational fluid dynamics, nanotechnology electrodes, Six Sigma product quality, strategic partners, and management talent. We do, however, expect customers to be drawn to our products because they deliver high-capacity electricity storage with the industry's most sought-after advantages: scalability and modularity; "plug-and-play" installation; reliability with low or no maintenance; and zero emissions.
